Frequently Asked Questions

A. Please register on our website DentalTechSearch.net any registered and active employer can utilize our job descriptions at no additional cost.

Q. How can Lab Owners Find Dental Lab Technicians

A. For more information please go to this page: Find Dental Technicians

Q. How do employees log back into the database and how do you view job postings?

A. To log in visit our homepage: DentalTechSearch.net

Just enter you details in the form at the right and click on the "login" button.

To view our job postings from that page click the “View current positions” icon.  From there you can view the jobs posted and contact the employers directly through their job posting, the emails go directly to that particular employer.

Q. How do employers/ lab owners use our services?

A. First login here. Employers are given two main options after logging in: "Click here to Create Job Posting" and "Search Candidate Database" The first option is where you would click to post your job postings, it will provide you with the option from there to create more, you can continue creating them until you are completed. You don't have to do them all at once, anytime you log in you will have the option.

The second option "Search candidate database" - you put in a keyword search either the destination i.e.: New York, or discipline i.e.: ceramist, and it will provide you a list of the employees in our database whom match your search criteria. We currently don't have the sub search option available but the feature will be coming soon.

Q. How much does it cost for the Canadian Immigration Services and how long does it take?

A. Due to the extensive amount of extra work that must go into assisting both the employee and often the employer through the immigration process, there is a $2500 USD fee; half is paid by the employer the other half paid by the employee. This is to be paid in increments, to ensure everyone is satisfied. The first payment of $1500.00 is due as soon as you’re confident that we're sincere and that we can achieve this for you. $750.00 is paid when you receive your file number from the Canadian local immigration officials and the last payment of $250 is to be paid once you leave to come to live in Canada.

These fees are needed to cover the administration fees, $150 processing fees and the advertising as required by immigration (HRDC). This fee is no comparison to the fee's you would have with an immigration lawyer. This also establishes your level of commitment to immigrate and utilize our services.

Q.Should my CV (resume) be amending accordingly for the position that is being offered?

A. Your CV should be standard which states facts about your formal education, advanced training, experience etc. Your cover letter is the only document that should be tailored directly to the specific position you are applying for.

Q. If an employer pays for relocation costs, is the employee responsible to sign a contract?

A. Yes, an employer is going to ensure you sign a contract at the very least to cover the cost of their investment.

Q. What is the process and what is required to immigrate into the USA; do I need to pay the money out right?

A. A job offer is required before we even begin the immigration process. You are required to have a minimum of 3 years education as well as 3 years working experience (3 years working experience is the equivalent of 1 year of school). The cost ranges from $4000 - $6500; many times the employer will agree to pay half but it is the job seekers responsibility except for the filing fees. We usually use a H1B visa (it is temporary and has to be renewed yearly but can effectively do so)

Q. Approximately how many resumes are currently available for dental techs and managers in your database?

A. We have over 5500 dental professionals in our database, over 4800 dental technicians specifically. We also have numerous resumes of managers and high end professionals that are not in our database that only use our executive recruiter.

Q. How does this site work to help Job Seekers?

A. Our services are user friendly, but the site will not do all the work for you, you must pro-actively use our services to get the maximum benefit from our services. You must visit our site regularly, review the jobs posted and contact the employers directly from our site through the job postings. We offer you the tools to help you find the career in Dental Technology that you have been looking for.

Q. How do you find jobs in specific areas (ie: states/countries/provinces)?

A. Go to our homepage, click Job Seekers Dental Technicians click  ‘view all current positions’, complete the form click ‘proceed’ then click the second option search by ‘view by Employer and Location’, this will open up a list of our active employers, their lab names, contact email and website as well as if they have a destination link on our site. From this page you can review only job postings in specific areas/labs of your choice and contact them directly from that page.

Q. I did not receive my user name and password, how do I login?

A. It could mean one of two things:
- You wrote your email address incorrectly, email us at: info@smilescience.com provide us with your name and advise us your current email address
- Your email address was returned to us as undeliverable for whatever reason, this could be because the initial email as well as other emails through our site are seen as being sent automatically, your spam filter could catch it and think it is spam therefore you would not get the email, contact your ISP.

Q. How much does it cost to post photos and how does this service work?

A. You can post up to 6 photos of your work for FREE, simply attach 6 photos in standard .jpg format which I will post onto your registration for you. If your email system will not allow you to send 6 attachments onto one email, simply send us 2 emails, with 3 attachments each!

Q. How do I sign up and receive the Employer Free Trial?

A. Once you complete and submit your registration please allow 24 – 48 hours for an associate from our office to contact you to schedule the FREE Trial, from here they will show you how to post dental ab jobs, search, screen and find technicians time effectively, and learn how the services will benefit your lab and how you can time effectively use our system to find the right person/people.

Q. How do the Recruiting services work?

A. Please contact our Director of Recruiting Loretta Burns at lorettab@smilescience.comRecruiting is a service where the employer only pays a placement fee when a successful candidate is hired.  We offer a flat fee or a percentage fee based upon the employees annual starting salary.

There is a 3 month guarantee for all clients.  Upon the recruiter receiving the details and specs of the position they will search out only the most qualified people.  Referrals, networking and email blasts are some of the sourcing of finding candidates.  The recruiter will screen, interview  and check references.  Your fee pays for a successful hire, but there is much time spent n the screening process.

Q. Do you have a phone number I can call?

A. You may also call us at 905.991.0684 if you have any questions at all.
